Bulk Editing and Updating Assets

🎯 Objective

This guide outlines the steps to bulk update, add, delete, reorder, and manage assets across different sites using the Manage Assets screen in FieldMagic.


1️⃣ Access the Manage Assets Screen

  • Log in to FieldMagic.
  • Navigate to the Manage Assets section.

🧾 Select Asset Type and Site

  • Choose the relevant asset type (e.g., fire panels, extinguishers).
  • Select the site you wish to manage assets for.

🔍 Load and Search Records

  • All matching records for the selected asset type and site will load.
  • Use the search bar to quickly find specific assets if needed.

✏️ Update Asset Attributes

  • Review and edit both main and custom asset attributes directly on screen.
  • Make inline changes to asset values as needed.

➕ Add or Delete Records

  • Click Add Record to create new assets and enter required details.
  • To delete, select an asset and choose the Delete option.

🔄 Reorder Assets

  • Drag and drop assets to change their order.
  • This updates the walk order for inspections or servicing.

💾 Save Changes

  • After editing, adding, deleting, or reordering assets, click Save to apply changes.

📤 Export Records for Bulk Updates

  • For large updates, use the Export function to download asset data.
  • You can reorder walk order and modify fields in the spreadsheet.

📥 Upload Updated Data

  • Use the input wizard to import the edited spreadsheet.
  • Ensure each row includes the ID field to correctly update existing records.

✅ Review Import Results

  • After import, click the provided link to review results.
  • Verify that all updates have been applied correctly to the system.
