PRODUCTS

Fieldmagic allows you to manage your products and services easily. Administrators can create a Product catalog to define the details and prices of your products, or can import products. These Products can then be grouped into Product Categories.  

The products within the product catalog can be classified further by creating Product Types. For example, you can have a Product type of Parts and a  Product Category of motors and blades. For each category you can have sub-category and several products.

CREATING A PRODUCT CATEGORY

Product Categories help  your sales agents and other users in finding a product. Navigate to Profile and then select Admin. Select Product Categories in the Products and Quotes Section.

You will be directed to the Product Categories List View. At the upper right corner, click the Create button.

Fill in the necessary fields and then click Save.

  • Product Category - The category's name. This will appear in the Product Category dropdown list.
  • Parent Category - Select a parent product category if this product category is a sub-set of another category.
  • Description - A description or other information about the product category.
  • Order - Enter a number to specify the order in which this category will appear in the Product Category dropdown list.
  • Date Created - The date the product category record was created.
  • Date Modified - The date the product category record was last modified.
  • Tags - Create  keywords that can be used to identify records in filters, dashlets, and reports.

CREATING PRODUCT CATALOG

In the Product Categories menu, click on the Create Product for catalog:

Define the details of your product and then click the Save button to create a new record. Be as descriptive as possible to help your sales agents and technicians in identifying the best product that suits their needs.

  • Product Name - The name of the product.
  • Category Name - Select the category to which the product belongs.
  • Part Number - The manufacturer's part number for the product.
  • Cost-The actual cost of the item. This will not appear on printed quotes.
  • Sell - The quotable sell price of the product.
  • Default Schedule Types- Set the default schedule for maintenance when the product is selected.
  • Date Created - The date the product catalog record was created.
  • Date Modified - The date the product catalog record was last modified.
  • Description - A description or other information about the product.
  • Tags - Create  keywords that can be used to identify records in filters, dashlets, and reports.

Note: When you  make a change in a product such as prices, this will only be applied to the records that will be created upon the update. If you need to apply the changes in the previous records/transaction, you need to edit it manually.

CREATING PRODUCT TYPES

When your organisation has too many products with broad categories, it would be good to classify them into types. Go to Product types then click Create Product Type. You may also delete a product type by simply clicking the delete button.

Fill in the necessary details then save your entry. You may also delete a product type by simply clicking the Delete button.

  • Product Type - The product type's name as it will appear on the Type dropdown list in the product catalog.
  • Description - A description or other information about the product type.
  • Order - Enter a number to specify the order in which this product type will appear in the Type dropdown list.
