This guide explains how to navigate and search within the Field Magic platform so you can quickly locate records, manage jobs, and streamline your workflow.


Key Steps

1. Introduction to Navigation

  • Field Magic navigation is grouped into functional areas.
  • Familiarize yourself with the layout to improve efficiency.

2. Accessing the Navigation Menu

  • Find the main navigation menu on the left-hand side.
  • Use the hamburger icon (three bars) to expand or collapse the menu.

3. Using Global Search

  • Search across the entire platform using names, job numbers, or quote numbers.
  • Narrow results by specifying a module.

4. Module-Specific Search

  • Enter a module (e.g., Contacts) to search only within that area.
  • Type relevant details into the module’s search bar to locate records.

5. Advanced Filtering in Jobs Module

  • Use built-in filters (e.g., jobs awaiting invoicing).
  • For custom searches, enter field names and values (e.g., status: pending).

6. Saving Filters

  • Save filters for future use by clicking the save icon.
  • Assign a clear name (e.g., All Pending Jobs) and optionally share with your team.

7. Navigating Job Records

  • Open a job to view details.
  • Use the top navigation to move sequentially through job records.

8. Sorting Job Records

  • Sort records by creation date or other fields to organize your view.

9. Understanding Contacts and Customers

  • Learn the differences between leads, customers, sites, and suppliers.

10. Managing Jobs and Templates

  • Access recurring jobs, job checklists, and templates for streamlined job management.

11. Creating Jobs and Quotes

  • Use the wizards for quick job and quote creation.

  • Define asset types and service schedules.

  • Handle customer invoices, purchase orders, and supplier invoices directly in the system.
